Dr. Hossein Modjtahedi obtained his PhD in psychology (Developmental Clinical Psychology, Psychosomatic Disorders and Analytic Psychotherapy) from Hamburg University and the University Medical Center Eppendorf, (Universitätsklinikum Eppendorf).
He is a member of “Psychoanalytisches Kolleg”.
He has been a lecturer and a guide to master and graduate students at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in Tehran. He is a member of the psychology subcommittee for “The Academy of the Persian Language and Literature” and is also a member of interdisciplinary cooperation research group „Aknoun“.
He is the Editor in Chief of cultural and social journal, “Discourse of Siavoushan”.
Dr. Mojtahedi has written and published books and articles in a number of journals, including “Youth and Society” and “Queries in Psychoanalysis and Psychology“, „A Freudian Psychoanalytic Approach to Phantasy in the Poems of Hafez“, „A Psychoanalytic Approach to Persian Myths, Sohrab and Siavoush“. He is a co-translator of “The Unconscious” and “Constructions in the Analysis“ by Sigmund Freud to Persian language, co-writer of Books „Thousands of Psychological Phrases” and „Comprehensive Persian Lexicon“.
He is the second editor in chief of the special edition of RISS: a psychoanalytic journal in German speaking countries (the editor in chief is Peter Widmer).
